11:00am - 3:00pm Picnic on The Alameda
Enjoy a family holiday filled with History, Patriotism and Roses! The Alameda Business Association is presenting the Fifth Annual Rose, White and Blue Parade and Festival held annually on 4th of July in San Jose. This year the Center has been invited to march in the Parade, and participate in the festival with a booth. Come and join your LGBT Community for a day of fun! The Center will have a contingent in this years parade. You, your friends, family, and everyone is invited to join in marching with us in the parade. We will start lining up for the parade at 8 am at the Lincoln High School parking lot on Dana Avenue. The Parade starts at 10 am. and ends on The Alameda between Hanchett Avenue and Shasta Avenue. Enjoy an old fashioned family-style parade as it winds through the Rose Garden neighborhood ending on the grand avenue of The Alameda. This homespun parade features live bands, dance groups, homemade floats, kids on bikes, antique cars, and this year, the Billy DeFrank Community Center. Following the parade, attendees can enjoy a picnic under the shade of our trees on The Alameda with live music, featuring food and drink from local restaurants.
