The Billy DeFrank LGBTQ Youth Space is proud to co-sponsor San Jose State University’s Transgender Awareness Week, March 8–11, 2010.  This collaborative event will feature national renowned Trans experts along with local activists to educate the SJSU campus and local community about Transgender people.  The week will feature art, film, scholarship and performance to present the intricacies of life for people who identify as transgender.  Feature events for the week will include an award-winning photodocumentary, “Transfigurations” by Jana Marcus; film screening of “Diagnosing Difference,” followed by a panel including the filmmaker, Dr. Annalise Ophelian and Cecila Chung, Chair-San Francisco Human Rights Commission; and a Cabaret Benefit Performance by Calpernia Addams.
